What we do
We identify schools in disadvantaged communities across South Africa and, together with our partners and volunteers, we work to capacitate and provide these schools with a fully functional school library. The aims of the library are to provide knowledge, encourage reading, ignite the imagination and help develop literacy and other skills.
To ensure sustainability, each library is supported by a trained library assistant who manages the day-to-day operations of the library and also provides learning support to the students.
Vision
To contribute to a South Africa where all schools are equipped with fully functioning and self-sustaining libraries where students can access books, and where the teaching & learning environment enables students to fulfil their potential through reading and literacy programs.
